About Us
Welcome to Pinoy of America.
Our mission is simple: to celebrate Filipino culture while supporting the talented artisans who keep its traditions alive.
Like many Filipino-American families, our story spans two countries. My Tita Virgie immigrated from the Philippines, and my grandfather owned a Filipino grocery store here in the United States. Filipino culture wasn't something we visited—it was woven into everyday life.
It was the sound of electric fans humming through the house. A tingting broom leaning against the wall. The famous barrel man making everyone laugh. The unmistakable smell of my Tita frying fish after returning from the Philippines—so strong you could smell it before you reached the house. I spent nearly every afternoon there growing up, just as my mom had before me. Looking back, those ordinary moments became the memories that shaped my love for Filipino culture.
In 2020, during my freshman year of college, I started Parols of America by importing my first container of handcrafted Capiz parols through family in the Philippines. What began as a small holiday business soon became something much bigger. I realized there were so many beautiful Filipino products—and so many talented artisans—that deserved to be shared year-round.
Today, Pinoy of America partners with artisans across the Philippines, from Pampanga and Iloilo to Baguio and Manila. Some of our products are traditional handicrafts, while others are designed collaboratively to blend Filipino artistry with modern styles that can be enjoyed every day.
Every purchase helps support skilled artisans, many of whom have spent generations perfecting their craft. Whether it's handwoven rattan, Capiz shell décor, carved wood, or jewelry inspired by Filipino heritage, each piece carries a story of craftsmanship, family, and culture.
We chose the name Pinoy of America because we know what it feels like to live between two worlds. For many of us, the Philippines is never far from our hearts, no matter where we call home. We hope our products help you celebrate your heritage, share it with the next generation, or simply discover the beauty of Filipino craftsmanship for the very first time.
Whether our products remind you of your Lola's house, family gatherings, childhood memories, or help you create new traditions of your own, we're honored to be a small part of your story.
Maraming salamat for supporting our family business and the incredible artisans who make it all possible. We hope every package that arrives at your door feels like a little piece of the Philippines.
